Uncover Phukets Secrets

A part of the island that is hardly mentioned when holiday makers tell their friends their stories of Phuket is  Cape Panwa & Ao Yon bay. This is such a shame because if all you have is memories is Tuk Tuk & Jet Ski touts, Overpriced drinks on Bangla Rd and the usual tourist experience of Patong, Kata & Karon, then you have missed a lot of the natural beauty of the island.


Now i'm going to tell you a secret but dont tell everyone as we want to keep this stuff all to ourselves, if you travel  to the South West Cape of Phuket, “Laem Panwa” or “Cape Panwa”.  Then follow the signs to the Phuket Aquarium, but turn right into a narrow lane approximatley 500m past the Deep Sea Port. This should take you up and down some small steep hills, and deliver you to The Secret Beach.
There are two great little bars here The Ship Inn which is run by Flower & her Thai family with a little help from her English husband Zow. Well Zow is a real character and a lot of fun, with many tales to tell. The food at the Ship is very good and the drinks are cheap.Best of all you have the fabulous views while sat in the bar while listening to the local sailors tell their tales. Zow also runs a fishing charter from here and his experience really gives you a great chance of catching that monster fish.
The Secret Cove is next door has a bar that is made from a traditional Long Tail boat, facing the sea from 5 meters, you can relax & enjoy tranquil environment with stunning views with food & drinks day and night. Again the food is highly recommended & the drinks are cheap.

These Bars are located on the only bay on the island offering year round protection from the changing seasons.
Boasting beautiful blue water, clean white sand, and lush green gardens, The secret is not the natural beauty, but the location, making this beach one of the least visited on the island. The perfect place to escape + discover the true meaning of island life.

Travel down this little road and you will see some amazing views, I believe the best on Phuket, also you will find the Khao Khad Viewpoint as mention in our last blog.
